Sunday Funday: Let’s read!

It’s Sunday and what better way to spend the day than to read, read, read!

Have you read the Love Warrior: A Memoir by Glennon Doyle? Published in 2016, the book quickly became a New York Times bestseller and made it to the Oprah Book Club selection.  If you have not had the chance to read it, I highly recommend it.  It is a raw and beautiful memoir of a raw and beautiful woman.  Doyle is a strong feminist, a mother to three children, and a woman who refused bulimia, alcoholism and betrayal rule her journey.  I’m a big fan of memoirs and autobiographies, especially of strong women, so this was an easy pick for me.  I’m reading it for the second time:)

And as you may know, I’m constantly reading The Secret book series, my favorites being The Secret and The Power.  If you find yourself searching for something in life…. if you need inspiration, guidance, purpose, positivity, support …. these books are definitely for you.  If nothing else, you will feel simply good after these reads.

My reading will be done at night after the boys have fallen asleep.  In the meantime, I will be busy snuggling up with my bear cubs and reading their latest favorites:)

This book has become popular in our home as of late.

My beautiful and fantastically talented cousin-in-law, Joanna Walega, is an illustrator of Scooper’s Fishy TaleWritten by Cathy O’Rourke, whose daughter spent much time in a Cork (Ireland) hospital, this sweet story helps children deal with illness and facing friends after illness.  Most of all, all proceeds from this book have been dedicated to the Children’s Leukaemia Association.   I‘m SO proud of these ladies and their tremendous work .  So wonderful to see women achieve amazing things!

Other books we love reading:

Daniel’s favorite lately:  Marvellous Munsch!

Suitable for ages 3-8, so Dominick who is 10 (soon to be 11!) can still enjoy these stories with his younger brother.  Lots of fun and giggles with this read!  Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham is also a favorite.  Fantastic read and a classic-must-have for all kids:)

One of Dominick’s favorite titles includes the National Geographic Kids Almanac 2018.  We all enjoy this one!  Daniel likes to learn about animals and looking at pictures and Dominick and I enjoy some fascinating facts from geography to science and technology.  Fantastic read!

How about you?  Are you reading or have you read any books that made a big impact?  Do you have favorite children’s books?  Do share!

Happy Sunday!  Happy reading!
