Restaurant Review: Planted in Hamilton

I have been longing for a healthy, pretty, yummy salad for a couple of days now.

Not one of those salads which calls itself a salad but it doesn’t even resemble one, you know?  I wanted something filling and delicious but also GOOD for my health.

So, I headed over to a local restaurant – Planted in Hamilton, where they pride themselves at being ‘Vegan. Gluten-Free. Awesome.’

They’re located at 225 John Street in Hamilton – can be a bit tricky to find them – they’re the furthest north plaza unit from John Street.  But I found them, no issues!

I pre-ordered a take-out Planted Salad and Kombucha.  The over-the-phone service was FANTASTIC!  Friendly, efficient and helpful.  The in-person service was just as nice!

And – when I walked in to pick up my food – I was SO sorry I couldn’t stay in!  What a fabulous little place!  Funky, laid-back, hip.

Loved the two oversized, heavy, wood tables in the middle and splashes of colour in the wall art and flower bouquets.

Not a ‘fancy-schmancy’ place at all.  Definitely a place where you want to hang out, relax and eat all the beautiful, healthy food!   Perfect!

Now a few words about the F-O-O-D!

The Planted Salad ($11)

Shredded kale, tomato, carrots, cucumber, roasted sweet potatoes, guacamole, tahini dressing, and pumpkin seeds.

Can I say: yum?!  I couldn’t ask for anything better!  Seriously, it hit the spot – right on!  Healthy, beautiful and oh-so-delicious!  And filling too!

Kombucha ($5.50): Organic, raw, undiluted, living kombucha from Guelph’s Live Kombucha.

Loved every sip!  Yum again!!

I think I will be a frequent customer!

5 hearts out of 5 for Planted in Hamilton!
