Cucumber Ginger Juice

This is the time of year when we see the beautiful farm fresh cucumbers at farmers markets everywhere.  Yum!  My boys and I have been eating A LOT of them!

So many options for cucumbers, from salads to snacks and of course to making pickles!

But, since cucumbers are 96% water,  how about juicing them?  Yes!

Ingredients

  • 5 medium sized cucumbers (skin on)
  • 4 coin size pieces of ginger (skin on)
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)

Directions

  • Wash cucumbers and ginger well
  • Run all ingredients through juicer
  • Add ice if desired
  • Sip on this healthy drink and be healthy!

Cucumbers are not only hydrating but also act as a deep cleanse for our bodies. They help to get rid of toxins, impurities and waste, which in turn prevents all kinds of illnesses – from digestive issues to cancer!

Radish Apple Lemon Juice

I have always liked radishes and knew of their nutritional benefits.  Having said that, I could eat one or two of these red beauties and be done, you know?  I mean, how many radishes can a person eat in one sitting? 😉

I recently heard of the exceptional benefits of radishes when it comes to kidney health and dissolving kidney stones.  And since I need help in that department (lucky me!), I thought, I must increase my intake!

I started to experiment with juicing radishes and guess what?  I  can drink a whole bunch in one sitting;)  Ha!  If you’re looking for a nutrition packed juice, this one is a definite option for you!

  • 1 bunch radish (approx. 10)
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 apple (any apple will do, but the sweeter the better!)

The weather has been SO hot around here lately!  Not complaining, not complaining!  But, man it has been HOT!  So what’s a girl to do?  Make some yummy juice, of course;)  Have to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Red Currant And Peach Juice

I remember spending summer days on my grandparents’ farm, picking red currants off their shrubs.  Mind you, at that time, it was intense labour for my family, as my grandparents had A LOT of shrubs!  Just doing one was loads of work!  Each family member had a little stool and a bowl and we sat around and picked, picked, picked.  Ate some in between, of course.  You can’t beat that taste.  Hence, when red currants are in season, I absolutely must have them!

A lovely Red Currant and Peach Juice is SO good and super good for you!  Plus, it’s easy breezy to make!

Carrot Lemon Summer Juice

It’s been REALLY HOT around here in the past few weeks and hey, I’m not complaining!  After all, we have pretty cold winters in Canada and we anxiously await these summer months.  But, when it’s this hot, hot, hot, you need to take care of your body and keep it nice and cool.  Don’t want to dehydrate!  And while water is always fantastic, a nice juice filled with vitamins and minerals is a lovely way of getting you cooled, feeling great AND healthy!

Herb Garden Green Juice
